African firewood is one of the driest types of logs you can get. Its ultra low moisture content of between 0 to 1% is unique to this type of timber, because of the absence of water in its habitat and the baking African sun. Even kiln dried firewood only drys to around 18-20%
Why is low moisture content firewood good for burning? Simply the lack of moisture creates a amazing long and equally slow burning time for the wooden logs, as the fire does not need to waste energy trying to burn off the excess moisture in the logs. This all means that African firewood can burn up to 3 or 4 times longer than the standard seasoned firewood's.
A superb cooking wood, perfect for fire pits and chimneas and can be used on multi-fuel/wood burning stoves.
